There are a zillion health benefits to being a vegetarian but for many of us who love meat (me included) it’s a hard sell. Imagine your last hamburger or bacon? It’s a thought that could keep a meat lover up a night. But Graham Hill founder of treehugger.com created a simple yet elegant solution for how we can cut back on our meat consumption and live a healthier lifestyle. 

The solution is the weekday vegetarian. The idea is that from monday to friday you eat only a plant based diet. No beef, no pork, no chicken, nothing with a face. On Saturdays and Sundays you are free to eat meat. So at the end of the week if you are craving a burger you can go out with your friends to eat and have one. 

The key is you aren’t giving up anything for good. You can still have meat on the weekends if you like and enjoy it if you want to. But now instead of most likely eating foods with meat 7 days a week you have cut your meat consumption by more than 70%. That is a significant change to your diet. 

Being a weekday vegetarian is an excellent compromise to being a vegetarian which might be too difficult for some people. Give it a try if you have been wanting to cut meat out of your diet but haven’t been successful in doing so. 

Imagine a world where everybody in the United States cut their meat consumption by over 70 percent. If Americans had cut back their meat consumption by 70 percent in 2012 it would have saved 37 billion pounds of meat from being eaten. Chew on that for a while.

If you wan’t to get a really great upper body workout you don’t need to go to the gym or spend a lot of money buying weights. The fact is weight is weight and it doesn’t have to be covered in neoprene to be useful for getting in shape. Almost all of us have a backpack laying around so put it to use by packing it with some books or anything of weight around you and start shaping and strengthening your upper body. I’ve done quite a few programs since I started my fitness journey. P90X, Insanity, 30 day shred, you name it! Lemme tell you why Bikini Burn is so damn good. 

1. It makes you work HARD! I swear by the end of the 20 mins I am just a puddle of sweat. 

2. Did I mention it’s only 20 mins? I don’t have forever to spend on my workouts. I’m a busy girl and I ain’t got no time for a long workout.
